camino de santiago day1

Day One: Camino de Santiago

The hike has begun!

A dedicated group led by Hanscom FCU President and CEO Peter Rice, recently completed Day 1 of a five-day, 75-mile-long hike made in honor of long-time employee Tom Boodry.

The team on June 30 embarked on the historic Camino de Santiago trail in Northern Spain to raise funds for the Tom Boodry Legacy Fund.

The Camino de Santiago, also known as the Way of St. James, is a network of pilgrims’ routes leading to the shrine of the apostle James in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northwestern Spain. Tradition holds that the remains of theapostle are buried there. Pilgrims walk these routes as a form of homage and spiritual path, and it has become popular with hikers, cyclists, and organized tour groups.
