Hanscom AFB, MA (December 23, 2019) – Hanscom Federal Credit Union collected new and unwrapped children’s toys in collection boxes set up at nine Hanscom FCU branches across the state. The toys were donated to the United States Marine Corps Reserves’ annual Toys for Tots drive and will be delivered to local children who need some hope and joy this holiday season.

“The holidays are a time for spreading joy, and that often brings back memories of family, food, and gifts,” said Hanscom FCU Chairman Ray Phillips. “There are families in our own community that are struggling, and children who may not get to have those fond memories of toys this time of year. As a Credit Union, we believe in the ethos of ‘People Helping People’, not just as words, but as deeds. We’re glad to be able to provide some of our neighbors with these toys, and are thankful for everyone who contributed.”

Toy collection boxes were set up at the Billerica, Bedford, MITRE Bedford, Burlington, Brockton, Devens, Littleton, South Bay, and Main Office (Hanscom AFB) branches.

Since 1947, the United States Marine Corps Reserve has conducted the Toys for Tots program nationwide. Beginning in November of each year, toys are collected to donate to children at need who need some hope and joy in their lives.
