Hanscom AFB, MA (June 19, 2019) – Hanscom Federal Credit Union set another fundraising record for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life event in Burlington, MA, on Saturday, June 8, 2019. A total of $15,983 was raised by #TeamHanscomFCU in support of cancer care and research.

The total includes Hanscom FCU’s matching donation of $6,544 and $1,000 event sponsorship.

This year’s fundraising was up over 25% from 2018, when the team raised $12,698.

Sandy Imbrogna, a training manager at HanscomFCU and #TeamHanscomFCU’s captain, said, “I participate in the Relay For Life movement for several reasons.  It gives me the opportunity to make a difference to those touched by cancer and I can help the American Cancer Society raise awareness of healthy living and fund groundbreaking research for cures. I believe that together we can make a difference and thank my coworkers and friends for joining and supporting me in the fight against cancer.”

“We can’t thank all of our members and employees enough for supporting #TeamHanscomFCU at Relay For Life this year,” said Laura Galeski, the credit union’s social responsibility manager. “From buying raffle tickets and participating in employee events like our ‘Top Chef’ lunchtime challenge, to making personal donations and showing up to walk during the event, we appreciate the commitment that went into making this another banner year of fundraising for such an important cause.”
