Protect Yourself Online

Review your accounts regularly

Login Info

Hanscom FCU and its Online Access provider employ multiple layers of security to protect your account information and transactions on our servers and the internet.

Please keep these best practices in mind:

  • We recommend members periodically change their passwords and use a unique password for each site.
  • When websites ask you to change your password, do not click the password reset link, instead go to the website like you normally do and manually change your passwords.
  • Lock your computers and mobile devices with a password to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Set your computers and mobile devices to automatically lock your device after a period of inactivity.
  • Always keep your computers and mobile devices up to date with the latest Operating Systems, browsers and apps.
  • Consider encrypting the data on your computer or mobile deivce if that feature is available

If you suspect account compromise or attempted fraud, call 800-656-4328 or contact us online.

AntiVirus

New viruses are created everyday. Some are intended merely to annoy computer and mobile device users, many are created for the sole purpose of stealing your online account login information. Hackers and computers continually attempt to access your computers and mobile devices and the data stored on them. To protect yourself, we recommend you use anti-virus and firewall software on your computer and anti-virus software on your mobile device (as available). Scan your system for viruses on a weekly basis (at a minimum) and keep your operating system and virus definitions up to date.

There are a number of excellent anti-virus and firewall software products available for purchase. A few of the most popular are listed below. If you are unsure about which product is right for you, your local computer store or a consumer protection site like CNet may have recommendations.

Card Fraud

Monitoring Your Card(s)
Be assured our primary focus is keeping your information secure. If necessary, we will notify members if their account has been compromised and if their card needs to be reissued or if any other action needs to take place with regards to their account. In the event that we suspect fraudulent activity is taking place, we will block the card until we are able to verify that you authorized the transaction(s).

We recommend that you review your accounts regularly.

  • Log in to Online Access HD and review your transactions. Contact us immediately if you see anything suspicious.
  • Activate Alerts on your credit card or checking accounts by logging on to Online Access HD and going to Preferences > Alerts.
